Capt America, SandMan, Freedom, MX'ed. We haven’t quite settled on this guy’s name yet. But lets try to make some sense of the names. One of the first things one will notice about him is that he is fully committed to the USPS colors. So Capt. America is not hard to understand. Sandman is a carry over from his diving days when he would spoil the view for all by arriving and stirring up the sand from the bottom. Freedom is not something we want to discuss here and the list really goes on and on. He lists his current job as a dealer (kind of dubious but don’t read too much into it). BUT if he wasn’t doing that (?) and lived in America he would be a NFL running back.

Sandman has been riding regularly for about 3 years. Recreationally he has been riding for longer and as a result of that has owned 10 bikes. He has outgrown 7 of them and is currently riding a fully loaded Trek 5500, custom painted Trek Fuel 100 and a Scott MTB. He lists his riding influences as some guy named Lance Armstrong and John Tomac.

Dream road bike, well, dream no more because he has it. His 2002 Trek 5500 is custom spec’d to his needs. He is still working on his dream MTB bike which is either a 2002 Gary Fisher-Sugar 1 and/or (you never know with this guy) Merlin XLM. Being a veteran of more that a few races, his best advice received is about racing and it was to start fast, have a burst midway and go all out at the finish. His best advice is to ride safe. In true junior veterans spirit, his best moments are all races. His worst cycling moment to date was seeing his sweetie crash in Pengarang with deep cuts (8 stiches) (once again, no pix folks). His best bike related purchase is his SIDney limited edition fork (#399 of 500). His worst bike related purchase was an ultra light (read not too strong) magnesium Loadstar frame.

His best non-bike related purchase: Vestax CD DJ mixer. (OK we’re not going to try to explain this cos I’m sure that it will lead to another nickname for this guy). Sandman’s worst non-bike related purchase? A Predator Action figure. Nuff said.
