Wankie,
wanker, lardo whatever you decide to call him, he is still one of the
original members of TeamAbsolut. In fact, extensive research has shown
that his fondness for this particular brand of Vodka led to the use of its
name. Anyway, his name and his nickname are closely related. His current
job is listed as ‘contractor’. Not the PCK kind but as a contract
employee at a big American firm. While occupying his time with this job,
he dreams of the day he can do what he feels he was meant to : being a
bum. Lardo has been riding for more than 20 years and he has the bikes and
scars to prove it. Here is a comprehensive list of bikes owned :
1.
GT,
2.
Dean,
3.
"Paramount",
old Italian steel road bike (nasi lemak bike when in Uni),
4.
Litespeed,
5.
Klein,
6.
Raleigh
chopper (when I was in primary school),
7.
Taiwanese
"flying something or other" PUB pipe road bike (when I graduated
to secondary school)
None of
these survived the test of time and he has settled on these: a
Klein Attitude for the trails, Klein
Quantum for the road.
As a
result of his early alcohol influenced years, Lardo has no idea who is the
person that most influenced you to ride.
When
asked about his dream road bike, Lardo maintains that he hasn’t found
one…yet. We do know that he has his eye on a number of sweet rides. His
dream mountain bike is custom Seven Ti with internal cable routing and
tubes the size of a Klein. Further proof that drinking kills brain cells,
he can’t remember received or giving any good advice about riding. Now
Lardo maintains that this is the result of age, but we know better.
His
best cycling moment is yet to happen but it will be
when he no longer is concerned about randomly changing parts on his bike
or
His best
bike related purchase are straightforward : padded shorts, SPDs
and Kleins.
His worst bike
related purchase have been American made CNC
As far
as non bike purchases go, Lardo feels that since everything he buys that
comes out of his 'new bike' budget, there can be no 'good' purchases.
